Zipline Canopy Tour, Rose Hall, Jamaica

The Excursion Day of the WMI m3 Private Wealth Group gave us the option of various tours. I chose the Zipline Canopy Tour with Chukka Caribbean Adventures.

We departed the Ritz Carlton Resort, Montego Bay and made our way up the steep road of the Rose Hall Estate, a vast former sugar plantation, learning the true story of Annie Palmer, the infamous White Witch of Rose Hall who murdered her husband and many slave lovers whom she buried in unmarked graves around the estate. They say she still haunts The Great Hall today.

Upon arrival at Chukka we began with a safety briefing and got kitted up with helmets, harnesses and leather gloves, then rode the truck climbing further up the steep and rutted limestone track cutting it's way through the forest and to the start point.

Then the fun began as we got started with our first traverse, soaring through the tree tops and over the Great River. One traverse was over one thousand feet long. We  zipped along at up to 35 miles per hour across springs, the Great River and a 150 year old Dam with an amazing view of the coast in the distance. It was totally awesome.  Some traverses did involve having to use your hands on the ropes to control braking speed which can get hot even through leather gloves and if you stop short you will have to pull yourself along again using the overhead zipline.  All too quickly the experience came to an end and it was time to ride the trucks back down the craggy limestone track. Talk about a blood rushing, breath taking view of Jamaica’s Forest!

Back at base we ran into the next group from the m3 conference and inspired them with tales of zooming through the treetops. I was quick to point out the vultures circling overhead.

The zipline canopy tour was a fantastic two and a half  hours very well spent. The guides were really great, extremely fun loving but with a healthy respect for safety procedures. I highly recommend the Zipline Canopy Tour at  Chukka Caribbean Adventures.

Cecilia, you’re breaking my heart…
LOL I love that song. Hey there. Your blog is awesome. So glad I found this. Thanks for the fun vacation post. I too just got back from an awesome vacation, and since I can’t stop thinking about it, I think I need to write something about it, so I can maybe get back to reality. LOL. It’s such a beautiful world, isn’t it?
Take care Cecilia.

Thanks Landa,

It’s also the people that makes a place, an experience and an event fabulous.
You certainly are a wonderfully fun person to be around and to share experiences and entrepreurship with. You are awesome and anyone would be blessed to have you as their mentor to lead them through the journey to success.

Take Care

Cecilia :O)
